Ice Cream...... Yum!!!

My local quilting guild puts on an ice cream social each June for all their members.  This year the woman who runs the social asked me to prepare 25 ice cream cone cards and ice cream chocolate lollipops for her to give to all her helpers.  She also wanted some business cards for me to display.. so here is what I came up with.

The ice cream cones were made using Stampin Up's Petal Cone die, and then cutting off one of the round flourishes, once that was done, add a piece red tape down the edge then seal.  Before adhering the flourishes (ice cream scoops) run the cone thru the big shot using the Square Lattice Die, this will create the lines that look like an ice cream cone.  Easy Peasy!!

For the business card box, I cased the following instructions  http://istampedthat.com/2011/03/27/business-card-holder-video-tutorial/, changing it up a bit for the ice cream social.  Michelle is such a wonderful and talented designer....  make sure to check out the other items on her blog.

MOJO Monday 194

I'm on a roll now, my second mojo monday entry sketch.  I happened to ask my husband what he saw when he looked at this sketch and he said it looked like a curtain, so I went with it... I thought of my three little girls and their dance recital... For this sketch I used many Stampin up elements, a retired SU set called tu- tu terrific and believe it or not retired Halloween paper, the stripes were perfect for the illusion of a wavy black velvet curtain.. I placed 3 pearls on each of the tu-tu's to give it some oomph!!

Graduation Invites

Wow.. 3 posts in one week, a new record for me :  )   I received an order for 25 graduation invites.  - I used one of my friends Michelles card for inspiration but changed the colors a bit as the customer wanted something that was a bit more girly.  I used a retired graduation stamp from stampin up and a variety of SU papers.

Of course, I forgot to grab a picture before I wrapped them all up :   (   go figure!!  They were however a big hit.. Thanks for looking.

MOJO189

Ok my very first contest, can we just say phew (I actually got it done)!!!!! I have wanted to enter a Mojo Monday contest since the time I received the first email. I also have had my eye on the paper bag book, there is a template out on split coast stampers, the complete directions can be found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/paperbagbook/

I used a combination of Copic and Stampin Up Markers to color in the little girl swimming.  She is from a retired Stampin Up Set called Beach Babies.  Isn't she perfect for this layout?  Most of the papers are from October Afternoon and the punches used are from Stampin Up.  The key tied to the end is one of the new stampin up embellishments, they were sold in the spring mini, hope you were able to get some.

I had a recent order

for a "Pink Flamingo" card.  When the person asked I replied sure "how hard can it be"... Sigh!!  It actually was a lot of fun to make, just a tad more challenging than I had expected.  I drew and cut the Flamingo from "Stampin Up" paper... "love that paper".  What a diffence good cardstock makes!!  I put many layers of different cardstock, drew her some legs on the white and then popped her up (with pop ups) in the middle and dolled her up for a night on the town, actually she reminds me of a little old women on her way to church.  "I love the way it turned out and so did the client"
